You'll love this recipe for the ultimate char-grilled cheeseburger bursting with flavor. Watch the video for a demo.

Fully Loaded Cheeseburger on board surrounded by condiments including pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, potato chips, watermelon and Cowboy Range Style BBQ Sauce bottle Burgers and buns on the grill with flames and bag of Cowboy Mesquite Briquets

The spicy-sweet mix of seasonings and BBQ sauce for the burger is further enhanced by the char-grilled, smoky flavor from Cowboy Mesquite briquets and chunks.

Ingredients

2 lbs ground beef

1 tbsp Minced garlic

2 tbsp Jack Daniel’s® Steak Seasoning

1 tbsp Isaac Toups Heat Wave from Spiceology

1 tsp Olive Oil, if needed

Salt

Cheese slices

Burger Buns

Cowboy Range Style BBQ Sauce

Lettuce

Tomato

Onion

Preparation

Set your grill up for a 2-zone fire. We recommend you use Cowboy All Natural Mesquite Hardwood Briquets and Cowboy Mesquite Wood Chunks.  Watch our videos to learn how to set up a 2-zone fire and how to use wood chunks.

Let the grill pre-heat to around 450 - 500 degrees.

Meanwhile, season the beef and form the patties by mixing the minced garlic, Jack Daniels® Steak Seasoning and Heat Wave spice mixture into the beef with your hands.

Gently divide the beef into even portions, around 1/2 pound per patty.

Shape and form the patties, making sure that the edges are sealed.

Dimple the center of each patty to prevent the burger from expanding in the middle as it cooks.

Clean and oil your grill grates.

When the grill is preheated, place the burgers over the hot side of the fire, keeping an eye on the grill. As the fat renders, it will drip, potentially causing flare ups. Move to the cooler side of the grill if needed.

As the burgers cook, move them with a grilling spatula as needed to manage the temperature, flipping once halfway through cook time. Burgers will take about 7 to 10 minutes to cook depending on thickness and desired temperature.

Meanwhile, toast the buns.

When the burgers have around 1 minute of cooking time left, add a double layer of cheese. Close the lid and allow the cheese to melt.

Remove the cooked burgers from the grill and build your perfect burger by slathering the bottom half of the toasted bun in Cowboy Range Style BBQ Sauce. Top with a cheeseburger. Place lettuce, tomato and onion on top.

Serve.
